Govindpuri Kalkaji & Okhla Slums – 2 Lacs Slum Population

AREA PROFILE:

India has made significant progress in improving access to education. However, millions of children, especially in rural and urban slum areas, still lack basic educational materials. Many families cannot afford books, notebooks, and stationery, leading to absenteeism and increased drop-out rates.

A baseline survey conducted by our NGO in Okhla,Govindpuri And Kalkaji revealed that:

  • Over 70% of children do not have access to complete schoolbooks.

  • Lack of writing materials is a major cause of irregular attendance.

  • Girls are disproportionately affected, especially in marginalized communities.

This project intends to fill this gap by supplying comprehensive study kits to children from these vulnerable backgrounds.

  • To provide essential study materials and books to underprivileged children in Govindpuri Kalkaji And Okhla South Delhi.

  • To support continuous learning and reduce drop-out rates.

  • To promote educational equality and literacy.

  • To engage the community and schools in supporting children's education.
